US Census Information 1990 vs. 2000:

I’ve realized that only 27.7% of African Americans received a high school diploma. This shows that a good amount of African Americans do not have the proper education status to pursue a decent paying job. On the other hand, a greater percent of African Americans received the high school graduate they need in life. In addition, more black citizens gain the academic skills then the total population should. On the downside, the total population received their bachelor’s degree or more then African Americans did. This could be due to some struggles or just their individual decisions.

Being widowed cause a lot of emotion and struggles throughout an individual’s life. Throughout the United States, 10.5% of women compared to the total population are widowed. Many artists find it relaxing to express their emotions through music and the lyrics.

African Americans around the age of 25 to 34 years old completed at least 4 years of high school. The percentage in 1991 was 82% and it is greater then the amount of people during 2000. For whites, the percentage held steady over that certain time period in history (87 percent). In the graph shown, during 1950 there were more married-couple households then in 1991. “Black married-couple families saw their real median income rise 47% over the period, from $22,910 to $33,780; in 1990.” –US Census Bureau. This is fascinating because it shows how African Americans started to experience the true life. It takes courage and strength to get to where they are in life.
